The Express Sahara Escape

Short on time but dreaming of the dunes? This 2-day express expedition takes you from the bustling energy of Marrakech to the serene sands of M’Hamid El Ghizlane—the historic "Gateway to the Sahara."

Prepare for a journey of contrasts. You will traverse the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass, descend into the palm-filled Draa Valley (the longest in Morocco), and arrive at the edge of the true desert where the road ends and the sand begins.

While this trip involves significant driving time, the constantly changing landscapes—from snow-capped peaks to ancient kasbahs and golden dunes—make the journey itself the destination. Your night is spent in a luxury desert camp, complete with a private ensuite tent, traditional music, and a sunset camel trek you’ll never forget.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the drive?

This is an express tour covering a large distance. Expect around 8 to 9 hours of travel each day, including stops for lunch, photos, and sightseeing. It is best suited for travelers who don't mind long car rides to see the desert in a short time.

Is this suitable for children?

Yes, children are welcome! However, due to the long driving hours, we recommend it for children aged 6 and up who are comfortable with car travel. We can make frequent stops to stretch legs.

What kind of camp do we stay in?

You will stay in a Luxury Desert Camp in the M'Hamid dunes. This means a private tent with real beds, quality linens, and an ensuite bathroom with a flush toilet and hot shower. It's very comfortable!

Are the dunes sandy or rocky?

The journey passes through rocky plains (Hamada), but the camp itself is located in the sandy dunes of the M'Hamid region (often Erg Lihoudi). You will get the full golden sand experience!

Is lunch included?

Dinner and Breakfast are included. Lunch and drinks are extra (allow approx €10-15 per meal). We stop at trusted local restaurants where you can choose à la carte.
